Description: A comprehensive course on growing organic fruit and vegetables spread over two 10 week courses: first is Fruit and Organic Techniques, second is Vegetables and Pests and Diseases.
2 hours theory per session plus 1 hour practical on the Farm allotments, allowing time to visit the café in the middle.

City Of Bristol College: C&G Certificate in Organic Gardening

  Course to start: 22nd February 2012
  Days and Times: Wednesdays 6.30-9.00pm (Theory) Saturdays 9-11.30am (Practicals)
  Duration: 14 Wednesday evenings and 6 Saturday mornings
  Site: Ashley Down Centre, Ashley Down Rd., and Ashley Vale allotments near St. Werburghs City Farm.

Description: A modular course covering all aspects of organic growing. On successful completion, candidates will receive the City and Guilds Certificate in Organic Gardening (Level 2).
Topics include looking after your soil, propagation of fruit and vegetables including seed sowing and grafting, dealing with pests and diseases organically, feeding plants, harvesting, etc.
Assessment is through multiple choice tests and practical assessment.
