Community Veg Growing Traineeship

Sims Hill Shared Harvest, a local Community Supported Agriculture project, will shortly be Starting a 10 week Community Veg Growing Traineeship.

Sims Hill Shared Harvest started growing veg for fifty households this year and is keen to have learning and social diversity at its heart, so we are running a pilot Traineeship.

The Traineeship will run for 10 weeks on fridays from 10am-3pm, starting 29th July and finishing 30th September.
(This is short notice but we have just got the money to do it and the growing season is moving on.)

The Traineeship is for people who have some gardening experience but want to learn more about community-based vegetable growing.
Priority will be given to people on the margins of society, whether this economic, ethnic, or otherwise, and those working/volunteering in community allotments.

Each Friday will consist of a short theory session (45mins), some observational work and practical activities in the field.
The primary learning method will be learning by doing and discussing things as we work.
Topics and activites will cover the basics of community veg growing.

There is a limited number of spaces available.
